Klaffenbach youth fire brigade celebrates its 20th anniversary

Many guests are expected to attend the anniversary "Game without borders" - Date: Saturday, 29 June from 10 a.m. at and around the Klaffenbach fire station

On Saturday 29 June, the Klaffenbach youth fire brigade celebrates its 20th anniversary. The youth fire brigades from the city of Chemnitz and Adorf as well as the youth group of the THW local association in Chemnitz have been invited to the event. Youngsters from the partner fire brigade in Bechhofen, Bavaria, will also be attending the anniversary. Together, the young firefighters will organise a "Game without Borders" on Saturday (29 June) from 10 a.m. in and around the equipment depot in Klaffenbach at Rödelwaldstraße 3. The young firefighters will have to master various tasks, some of which are not typical for the fire service. The award ceremony will take place at around 2 pm.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.

Background: The Klaffenbach volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1879 and is now one of Chemnitz's 15 neighbourhood fire brigades. It currently has 50 members. The youth fire brigade, which was established 20 years ago, now includes twelve young men and one girl. Their adult role models are called out to around 30 operations per year. They are not only called out to fires and emergencies in their own neighbourhood, but also in Harthau.

The young firefighters themselves train diligently and put their practical and technical firefighting knowledge to the test, for example in the competition for the German youth fire brigade badge.
