Keeping Chemnitz's waters natural

Clean-up campaign on 14 September, 9 a.m., meeting point: terminus of railway line 1 in Chemnitz Schönau

On Saturday, 14 September at 9 a.m., committed citizens are invited to take part in the clean-up campaign at the Kappelbach to remove rubbish from the watercourses and thus keep the waterways natural. Waters in Chemnitz are repeatedly polluted by rubbish. The Environment Agency and the Transport and Civil Engineering Department of the City of Chemnitz are jointly organising a clean-up campaign.

Registration at https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/-kX9MsA9j is required by 12 September. The meeting point is the terminus of the railway line 1 in Chemnitz Schönau.

Participants must bring their own clothing and footwear that can get wet (sturdy shoes or boots), as well as a change of clothes (shoes, socks, trousers) and possibly a small towel. Gloves will be provided on site.

The activity is also suitable for children aged 10 and over if at least one parent or guardian takes part. All participants are covered by the Saxon volunteer insurance.
