"kaffeepause" exhibition "Future without trees?"

Adult education centre: Midissage on 5 May, 5 p.m., TIETZ, event hall, 3rd floor and VHS gallery, 4th floor

On Friday 5 May at 5 pm, the adult education centre and Diakonie Sachsen invite interested parties to a special midi reading with musical illustrations in the TIETZ event hall. The topic is as simple as it is significant: trees.

Albrecht Goette from the Staatsschauspiel Dresden will be reading together with the authors of "kaffeepause" Lydia Schubert, Nicole Weidauer, Selke and Jonas Mucha. They will be accompanied by Dirk Hessel on drums and Jonah Roth on electric guitar. This will be followed by a joint visit to the exhibition in the VHS gallery on the 4th floor. In a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere, there will be plenty of opportunity for open dialogue over a light snack.

Admission to the midi opening in the event hall and exhibition in the VHS Gallery on the 4th floor of the TIETZ is free of charge.

Around 90 works - paintings, drawings and texts - have been on display since 14 March under the title "Future without trees?". The show was created by the art and further education project "kaffeepause" for people with disabilities at the Brüderhaus education and meeting centre of the St. Martin deaconry in Rothenburg, Saxony.

As part of the inclusive project, around 160 people from all over Saxony work together artistically on a theme every year. They create their own literary texts and pictures, which are published in the magazine "kaffeepause".

The exhibition on show illustrates the topic of trees with a view to the future with the selected works of art and literary texts. On display is an impressive mosaic of diverse techniques and perspectives, as diverse as the participants in the project.

The exhibition can be seen until 21 July, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the VHS gallery on the 4th floor of the TIETZ.
