JuNa competition: "Who lives there?"

Children and young people aged 6 to 14 are invited to take part in the "Who lives there?" competition and participate in the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz" programme with their bird observations.
Have you built or bought a nesting box yourself? Then draw us a picture of where you have hung the nest box and who has occupied it. Perhaps you would also like to write us a story about your birdwatching, photograph the nest box inhabitants or make something to go with it? There are no limits to your creativity.
Children and young people between the ages of six and 14, groups from day-care centres, school classes or working groups from Chemnitz can take part. There are three prizes in each of the age categories up to six years, seven to ten years and eleven to 14 years.
Projects can be submitted until 30 June 2021, stating the name, age and address of the participants. Either by post to the City of Chemnitz - Environmental Agency, keyword "Vogelbeobachtung", 09106 Chemnitz or postage paid in the municipal letterboxes or by e-mail to: umweltamt(at)stadt-chemnitz.de. There is no legal recourse.
The campaign is a joint project of the Environment Department of the City of Chemnitz, the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz" project and the Adelsberger Str. 192 nature conservation centre.

Children and young people can experience, discover and learn to protect nature with the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz". They are part of the "Young Nature Guards Saxony" programme, which aims to recruit the next generation of nature conservationists. The "Young Nature Guards of Saxony" programme aims to get children and young people interested in nature conservation and train them to become young and old "experts". Perhaps they will later even become active as nature conservation helpers? They are needed everywhere. They observe nature, provide information about it and are an important part of nature conservation in Saxony. For example, the nature conservation assistants also provide support with mapping tasks or take care of special protected areas.
Since 2021, the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz" have been based at the Chemnitz Nature Conservation Centre, Adelsbergstr. 192, and not only supervise the "AG Chemnitzer NATUREntdecker", but also offer training to become "Young Nature Guards", JuNa for short.
The "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz" are based on the curriculum of the "Young Nature Guards Saxony" programme, which is implemented together with experts (nature conservation assistants, educators, teachers, environmental educators, beekeepers, hunters, farmers, etc.).
A wide range of environmental, nature and adventure education events, conferences and activities are organised. The "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz" focus on nature and experiential education approaches designed to inspire enthusiasm for environmental protection and nature conservation.
All children and young people interested in nature can join the "Young Nature Guards Chemnitz".
