"Jugend musiziert": Four Chemnitz pupils celebrate success at the national competition
Four pupils from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School successfully took part in this year's national "Jugend musiziert" competition in Kassel.
Clara Dietze won second prize in the cello solo category with 22 points. Lydia Stettinius played in the violin solo category. With 17 points, she received the rating "participated with very good success". Kevin Rau and Julia Hajduczek won 3rd prize in the guitar duo category with 21 points.
The 53rd national "Jugend musiziert" competition took place in Kassel from 12 to 19 May 2016.
Participants from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School had already enjoyed great success at the state competition in Hoyerswerda, but are too young to perform at the national competition. At the state competition, Lara and Charlotte Starec, guitar duo, and Clara Böttger, Finn Thomschke and Antonia Winger, piano trio, were awarded first prize.
Jakob and Charlotte Kuhn also won first prizes in the "Jugend jazzt" state competition. This competition only takes place at state level.
