The auditions for the "Jugend musiziert" competition in 2022 will start in Chemnitz on Saturday 26 March. The programme includes performances in the following categories at the TIETZ and the Municipal Music School: violin in age groups IV to VI, double bass and duo piano and a woodwind instrument in age groups I and II as well as IV and V.
A total of 164 young artists will face the judgement of the expert juries in Chemnitz. The event will be organised as an in-person competition.
The prizewinners' concert at the end of the competition will take place on Friday 13 May at 7.30 pm in the concert hall of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School. Admission is free. Media representatives are invited to attend.
Taking part in the "Jugend musiziert" competition is an important artistic and musical highlight for pupils and teachers at the beginning of the new year. They have been working intensively on their competition programme. All participants have the opportunity to receive feedback from the jury. The girls and boys in age group III and above with the highest rating are allowed to take part in the national competition at Whitsun.
The five "Jugend musiziert" regional committees have organised the competition schedule together with the Saxon Music Council, taking into account the pandemic-related restrictions. As in 2021, the regional competitions and the state competition will take place as a joint competition on the weekends of 25 to 27 March and 1 to 3 April 2022.
The state competition "Jugend musiziert" Saxony is a project of the Saxon Music Council e. V. This measure is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon state parliament. The competition is also supported by the savings banks in Saxony.
