The third and final round of the "Jugend musiziert" competition, which took place in Wuppertal from 5 to 11 June, came to an end today. Particularly talented musicians from all over Germany showed off their skills.
Pupils from Chemnitz Municipal Music School also impressed with their outstanding performances, having previously won through at regional and state level.
In the vocal duo category, soprano Karolin Scheunert and baritone Sebastian Wäntig, accompanied by Esther Winkler on the piano, won 2nd prize with 23 out of 25 points. Richard Junge shone on the accordion and achieved a very good result. A particularly outstanding contribution came from a former pupil of the Municipal Music School: Kalin Todorov, a young student of music in Leipzig, achieved full marks in the cello category together with his piano partner Annegret Bruns, thus winning 1st prize.
