Jugend musiziert: Competition and prizewinners' concert
A total of 96 young musicians from Chemnitz, Central Saxony and the Erzgebirge district
On Saturday and Sunday, 27 and 28 January, the competition auditions for Jugend musiziert 2024 will take place in Chemnitz, Stollberg and Mittweida. 96 young musicians from Chemnitz, Central Saxony and the Erzgebirgskreis are ready to showcase their skills.
The prizewinners' concert at the end of the 33rd regional competition will take place on Sunday, 3 March at 4 pm in the auditorium of Mittweida Municipal Grammar School, Am Schwanenteich 16.
Admission to the competition auditions and the prizewinners' concert is free.
Representatives of the media are also invited.
The 33rd regional competition with young soloists and duo participants is organised by the regional committee Jugend musiziert in Chemnitz, Stollberg and Mittweida. 48 young artists have registered in the solo category for the woodwind instruments, recorder, guitar and mandolin. In addition, 48 participants will face the judgement of the expert juries in the regional competition in the duo section in the categories piano and a string instrument, piano - four-handed and duo: art song.

The main organisation and venue for the regional competition this year is Mittelsächsische Kultur gGmbH and the Central Saxony Music School. The main venue alternates each year between Central Saxony, the Erzgebirgskreis district and the city of Chemnitz. This gives the regional Jugend musiziert competition a wider reach in the region.
This year, the competition is being financed by Mittelsächsische Kultur gGmbH, the city of Chemnitz, the Erzgebirgskreis cultural education organisation and the Chemnitz Municipal Music School's support association.
