"Jugend musiziert"
31st competition in Saxony successfully concluded last weekend
The final competitions of the 31st Saxon Youth Music Competition took place last weekend. The regional and state competitions took place on the weekends of 25 to 27 March, 1 to 3 April and 9 to 10 April. The event was organised as a face-to-face competition in various locations in Saxony.
45 young artists from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School faced the judgement of the expert juries and 19 of them received the rating "Participated with outstanding success".
Although the youngest musicians took part with very good and outstanding success, they can only qualify for the national level later. The little ones achieved excellent results: Sophie Zidar and Noah Windsheimer (solo violin); Benjamin Müller, Janosch Zimmermann and Paula Thümmler (solo cello); Erwin Berkoben (solo double bass); Paula Czäczine and Dorothea Herbst, Richard Ruzicka and Maximilian Dambor (duo piano and a woodwind instrument); Samuel Philipp, Benjamin Müller and Justus Valentin (piano chamber music).
Six students qualified for the national competition: Matthias Wagner, solo cello; Kalin Todorov, solo cello; Laura Valeria Graichen, vocal-pop; Anna Lena Kreher, solo accordion; Rahel Quelmalz, flute with Josephine Lehmann, piano as a duo-piano and a woodwind instrument.
The Municipal Music School would like to recognise the achievements of all participants, who have prepared themselves with great dedication during this challenging time.
