Journalism workshop - Behind the scenes at Sachsen-Fernsehen
Adult education centre invites you to a workshop in ten parts - from 5 October, 5 p.m., at TIETZ
The multi-part course series "Workshop Journalism - Behind the Scenes of Saxony Television" begins on Tuesday, 5 October at 5 p.m. in the adult education centre, course room 4.08, in the TIETZ.
Half-truths and false information are hidden in both traditional media and social networks. Many users are unsure which offers they can trust. This makes it all the more important to recognise well-researched news and use it as a basis for forming an opinion.
In a total of ten individual courses, experienced editors provide insights into their everyday work and show how topics are prepared, how sources are used and how content is checked for truth. They also teach participants how to produce their own programmes using a microphone and camera.
Participation is free. All interested Chemnitz residents are invited, no previous knowledge is required. The first four dates will take place in 2021, the others will follow in the first half of 2022. As the workshops are related in terms of content, it is recommended to attend all parts of the course if possible. However, partial participation is also possible.
Topics of the individual workshops:
- How does the media system work in a democracy?
- What are the differences between traditional and social media?
- How does journalism work, what are the principles?
- What does the job description and everyday life of a modern editor look like?
- How is news created? Editors explain the 1x1 of practice
- What are the differences between reports, features, interviews, commentaries, etc.?
- What responsibilities do journalists and users have? How do I recognise fake news and half-truths in my environment?
- to 10 Create journalistic formats yourself
Each session begins at the adult education centre, after 90 minutes the participants move to the editorial offices of Sachsen-Fernsehen.
The workshops are part of the series "trau.schau.wem? - faktenfest und mediensicher" series, a project run by the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre to strengthen media skills.
