Joint exercise of the Chemnitz fire brigades
Today, 5 pm in the former Kulturpalast Rabenstein, Pelzmühlenstraße
Today, Friday, from 5 p.m., the Chemnitz volunteer fire brigades and the professional fire brigade of the city of Chemnitz will be carrying out a joint large-scale exercise in the former Kulturpalast Rabenstein, Pelzmühlenstraße.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend.
The contact person on site is the head of the exercise, Philipp Gertack.
The scenario being practised is that during preparations for a rock concert, various pyrotechnics explode in the stage area, fire has spread, stage workers are missing and other casualties have to be rescued, despite access being partially blocked. As an aggravating problem, it is assumed that the hydrant network in the surrounding area has failed due to construction work.
The fire brigades train in rescuing people, firefighting and pumping water over long distances. In addition, cooperation between the fire services is to be rehearsed and consolidated. Leadership and leadership support is also an important aspect of the exercise.
A total of around 60 firefighters from the Rabenstein, Stelzendorf, Grüna, Mittelbach and Siegmar volunteer fire brigades and the professional fire brigade take part in the exercise.
