Johanneum" Foundation distributes Christmas parcels
Invitation for journalists: on 21 December, 3.30 pm, Sozialpädagogische WG, Borssendorfstraße 1
On Wednesday, 21 December at 3.30 p.m., the children and young people at the Socio-Pedagogical WG of the SFZ Förderzentrum gGmbH, Borssendorfstraße1, will receive Christmas parcels from the municipal children and youth foundation "Johanneum".
The 18 gift packages were presented by Hans-Rudolf Merkel, Chairman of the Foundation, Jaqueline Drechsler, Deputy Chairwoman of the Board and City Councillor, and Simone Kalew, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees.
Once again this year, the Johanneum Children and Youth Foundation has packed a total of 50 Christmas parcels to bring Christmas joy to children and young people living in various independent youth welfare centres in the city.
The foundation is supported by Bürgerplattform Süd-Ost, Richter & Hess Verpackungs-Service GmbH and the organisational cooperation with the "Zur Alten Wanne" children's and youth centre run by the Altchemnitz-Harthau Lutheran parish.
The "Johanneum" children's and youth foundation was founded in 1855 at the instigation of Carl Christian Hübner from Chemnitz to give girls and boys from socially disadvantaged families equal opportunities in life. When it was re-established in 2002, it became the first legally independent municipal foundation in the city of Chemnitz. The sponsored projects primarily help socially disadvantaged children and young people in Chemnitz. Among other things, they are encouraged to develop their social and communication skills and increase their self-esteem.
