The adult education centre invites you to an online lecture on Wednesday, 16 December, from 6.45 to 8.15 p.m. entitled "Is it all coincidence, fate or karma?".
Participation costs 4 euros. Anyone interested can register atwww.vhs-chemnitz.deanmelden by 4 p.m. on 16 December and will then receive an access link by email.
Who decides our lives? Is it a higher power that puts us in certain circumstances and makes us have similar experiences again and again? Or is what happens to us coincidence in the sense of luck and bad luck?
Buddhism assumes a third perspective, karma. According to this, life follows the rules of cause and effect. What we do ourselves is decisive. The effects we experience are therefore the result of our own actions. According to this logic, we are in control of our own lives and happiness.
The speaker Yoshiharu Matsuno, Buddhist teacher and supreme counsellor, will shed light on the Buddhist doctrine of karma and how we can shape our lives accordingly and answer questions from participants.
