Invitations to lecture and discussion: AgendaForums WaterWorlds

Two lecture and discussion evenings are on the programme in the "AgendaForen WasserWelten" event series on 1 and 15 October in the event hall of the TIETZ building, jointly organised by the Chemnitz Environmental Centre, the Agenda21 office and the adult education centre. Each event starts at 7 pm - admission is free.

"Drought, flood and weather chaos - water and climate change" is the topic of the lecture by meteorologist Wilfried Küchler, employee of the State Office for Environment and Geology, on 1 October. The speaker is the winner of the Kurt Schwabe Prize of the Saxon Academy of Sciences. His presentation will focus on the effects of global climate change on the weather and water balance and the increase in extreme weather situations, the resulting effects and the necessary strategies.

"Water as a commodity" is the topic of the second event on 15 October, which will focus on water as one of the most valuable foodstuffs on earth. The discussion partners are Sven Seifert, Managing Director of the aid organisation arche noVa e.V., Marcel Maiga, Friendship Association Chemnitz - Timbuktu and Emiliano Chaimite, Association for African-European Understanding, Dresden.
