Invitation to the press event
Trainees from Finland and the Czech Republic visit Chemnitz Town Hall
On Wednesday, 18 March 2015 at 2 p.m., Pia Sachs, the city's EU Coordinator, will welcome young trainees from Finland and the Czech Republic to the Green Salon in the town hall. The young people will spend several weeks gaining professional experience in Chemnitz as part of LEONARDO DA VINCI, an EU mobility and education programme.
A presentation about the city and the city's European work awaits the trainees in the town hall. The programme also includes a quiz on the European Union and Europe, conducted by a student of European Studies at Chemnitz University of Technology. Finally, there will be a tour of the town hall with the tower keeper Stefan Weber.
Media representatives are cordially invited to the reception (New Town Hall, Green Salon, 2nd floor) and the subsequent programme. The trainees will be happy to talk about their experiences in Chemnitz.
The three young Finnish people from Kemi in northern Finland have been getting to know German companies, language and culture and making professional contacts in Chemnitz since 14 February. Their exchange ends on 27 March. Six trainees and one trainer from Most in the Czech Republic travelled to Chemnitz on 9 March 2015. For the next two weeks, they will gain an insight into the training programme at Bildungs-Werkstatt Chemnitz gGmbH.
Bildungs-Werkstatt Chemnitz gGmbH supports the vocational education and training programme for young people. The institution has been participating as an exchange partner in EU projects within the EU education programme LEONARDO DA VINCI for several years. The programme aims to strengthen the international professional skills of the programme participants.
