Invitation to the festive event 25 years of reunification

Time and place: Friday, 2 October 2015, 6 p.m. - Chemnitz Industrial Museum

This year marks the 25th anniversary of German reunification. The city of Chemnitz will be honouring this anniversary together with its twin city Düsseldorf in a festive event: On the eve of the anniversary of German reunification, the city of Chemnitz and numerous guests from Chemnitz and Düsseldorf want to focus on a piece of history that has changed the lives of many right up to the present day.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes her counterpart Thomas Geisel and 35 other guests from the twin city of Düsseldorf. Joachim Engelmann, Managing Director of Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz GmbH, was invited to speak. The guests also include the mayors and city council factions of both cities and representatives from the worlds of business, art and sport. The Robert Schumann Quartet and the Chemnitz band "Jeneeny & friends" will provide the musical backdrop. Guests will also have the opportunity to view the museum's new permanent exhibition and talk to the museum staff.

Possible photo opportunities include the welcoming addresses and speeches (approx. 6 to 7 p.m.), the evening programme with a visit to the exhibition and the presentation of gifts to the guests from Düsseldorf (approx. 10 p.m.).
