Invitation to press conferences/photo shoots: The new football stadium will be ceremonially opened "Day of the open stadium gates" on 18 June

The time has finally come: on 18 June, after a construction period of more than two years, the gates of the new Chemnitz football stadium will open. We would like to invite you to the following press events in the coming week:

Tuesday, 14 June, 1 pm:
Preliminary tour of the stadium's main building and presentation of the programme for the
programme for the stadium open day next Saturday. The following people will be available to talk to you

  • Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig
  • CFC Chairman Dr Mathias Hänel and
  • Herbert Marquard, commercial director of Eins Energie

will be available.

Thursday, 16 June, 6 pm:
Trial training of the city selection from 28 clubs of the football district association, which will play the first match in the new stadium on Saturday against the CFC under the sporting direction of coaching legend Christoph Franke.
You will receive a separate press release on Tuesday.

Saturday, 18 June, 10 am to 6 pm:
Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig invites guests to a celebratory reception to mark the opening of the new stadium at 10am. Among the invited guests are Saxony's State Minister for the Environment and Agriculture, Thomas Schmidt, city councillors and high-ranking representatives from business, science, culture and sport as well as friends and partners of Chemnitzer FC.

Kick-off for the public is at 11 a.m.: Then there will be an all-day opportunity to explore the stadium. The City of Chemnitz and Chemnitzer FC have put together an extensive programme for the family day. After the opening, regular stadium tours will be offered. Visitors can explore the main building, the main stands and the interior of the stadium. There will also be a unique opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the stadium.
