Invitation: Programme for the Chemnitz Peace Day on 5 March 2014

Press conference on 11 February 2014, 2 p.m., Room 118

A broad alliance of city council groups, the Lord Mayor, representatives from business, trade unions, culture, sport, science, churches, the Jewish community, initiatives, associations and civil society players are once again calling on citizens to present Chemnitz as a cosmopolitan and tolerant city on the Chemnitz Peace Day on 5 March. Every year, thousands of Chemnitz residents declare their support for peace, democracy and against right-wing extremism and hatred.

The programme for this year's Chemnitz Peace Day will be presented on 11 February at 2 pm in City Hall, Room 118. All media representatives are cordially invited.
The press conference will be attended by the Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig, Mayor Miko Runkel, the undersigned parliamentary groups, the General Director of Chemnitz Theatre, Dr. Christoph Dittrich, Sabine Kühnrich from the AG Chemnitzer Friedenstag, Gerald Richter from the Initiative Aktion C, Christoph Magirius from the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Chemnitz, Tobias Berndt from the Chemnitz Platform for Democracy, Matthias Jobke from the Chemnitz Nazi-Free Alliance and Maximilian Schneider from the Chemnitz University of Technology Student Council.
