International Safer Internet Day
Action week in Chemnitz from 6 to 9 February
This year's international Safer Internet Day (SID) takes place on Tuesday, 6 February. An action week is planned in Chemnitz from 6 to 9 February. The theme this year is: "Let's talk about porn! Pornography on the net". This title was not chosen without reason. Children and young people are particularly at risk. They come into contact with pornography more quickly via social media and must not be left alone. The day of action is also intended to provide general information about the opportunities and risks of social media. To this end, the programme has been expanded to address different target groups.
The campaign week is a cooperation between the State Office for Schools and Education (Chemnitz site), Chemnitz City Library, Chemnitz Police Headquarters, media educator Sebastian Steger, Solaris FZU gGmbH Sachsen, Wildwasser e. V., the Municipal Prevention Council of the City of Chemnitz, Verbraucherzentrale Sachsen e. V., the Children and Youth Commissioner of the City of Chemnitz and the "Prävention im Team" network.
Every year, the organisation team provides attractive workshops and information events aimed at a broad target group. Educational staff, parents and children will find interesting facts about the internet and new media during the action week.
The complete programme of the action week can be found in the flyer (attached), further offers for schools, including Saxony-wide offers, can be found at www.mesax.de/sid. Most of the events are free of charge. Registration takes place locally with the respective organiser.
