International Museum Day on 16 May
Digital visit to the Museum für Naturkunde / Photo competition - The apple tree through the seasons
International Museum Day is celebrated on Sunday, 16 May. Unfortunately, only a digital visit is currently possible due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz is now offering a digital journey through the museum.
Behind the doors of the former TIETZ department stores' in the city centre, there is a true world of wonder to discover. Where ties and fine stockings used to be sold, you can now take a journey through the history of the earth. A petrified forest "grows" upwards here, with the longest trunks reaching up to the upper floors of the former department stores'.
The guide takes visitors on a digital journey through nature with films, stories and games. Anyone looking for a creative break can browse the homepage: www.naturkundemuseum-chemnitz.de/de/virtueller-Besuch.html
