On Saturday 2 September at 7.30 pm, anyone interested is invited to a bat night event in the Zeisigwald forest to mark International Bat Night. The meeting point is at the playground on Forststraße, from where we will walk a short distance together. Participation is free of charge.

Volunteer bat expert Holger Tippmann will begin by providing interesting facts (lifestyle, species, etc.) about these highly endangered and useful insect predators.
Bats are fascinating creatures: They see with their ears and fly with their hands. But there are still many prejudices against this group of animals, even though hardly anyone has ever seen a bat up close.

At dusk, hunting bats can be observed in the immediate vicinity. The ultrasonic calls of the bats are made audible using a detector.
