Interministerial working group European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 visits the Hartmannfabrik construction site

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will visit the Hartmannfabrik in Chemnitz on Thursday, 19 May at 12.45 pm together with the State Government Commissioner for the European Capital of Culture 2025, State Secretary Thomas Popp, and the members of the Interministerial Working Group European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 (IMAG).

The Hartmannfabrik will be the future reception centre for guests of the European Capital of Culture and the European Workshop for Culture and Democracy. The IMAG members will be informed about the progress of the remodelling of the Hartmannfabrik on a tour of the construction site.

Representatives of the media are invited to join the tour.

Following the tour, State Secretary Popp and Lord Mayor Schulze will give short statements. Martin Rother, CEO of Nexus Immobilien GmbH, the owner of the building, and Linda Hüttner, Managing Director of the general contractor Gunther Hüttner GmbH und Co KG, will provide information about the current construction work.

The IMAG was set up by the Saxon state government to ensure regular coordination between the ministries involved and the city of Chemnitz. It is headed by State Secretary Thomas Popp, the state government's representative for the Capital of Culture under Minister President Michael Kretschmer in the Saxon State Chancellery.
