Following the surprising resignation of the Managing Director of Chemnitz Tourismus und Marketing GmbH, Lars Herrmann, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze has been able to recruit an experienced manager at short notice to take over the management of CTM from next week.
Christian Schäfer has agreed to take over the management of CTM on an interim basis. The 60-year-old business expert will introduce himself to the employees in the coming days.
Lord Mayor Sven Schulze: "I am very grateful to Christian Schäfer for agreeing to step in and take over the management at such short notice. It is important that CTM can continue to fulfil its tasks, especially in the tourism sector."
As part of the handover of the CTM to the interim managing director, it was agreed that the KOSMOS Festival will be organised next year under the auspices of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH. The tourism topics are to be further developed in close cooperation with the Chemnitz Zwickau Region e. V. tourism association.
Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will inform and involve the new Supervisory Board elected by the City Council yesterday about the latest developments at CTM.
