Interesting facts about Chemnitz Zoo
VHS@home on 24 February, 6 to 7.30 pm
On Wednesday, 24 February, from 6 to 7.30 pm, the adult education centre invites you to an online lecture on current events at the zoo and wildlife enclosure. Dr Anja Dube, head of the zoo, and Jan Klösters, zoo educator, will be on hand to answer questions. Participation is free of charge. Anyone interested can register by 24 February, 3 p.m. at www.vhs-chemnitz.de or 0371 488 4343 and will receive an access link by email.
The speakers will take a look behind the scenes: Around 1300 animals live in the Chemnitz Zoo and Wildlife Park. These include many rare and endangered species from all over the world. A special feature is the vivarium with almost 60 amphibian species, which is unique in Europe.
The director introduces the zoo and wildlife enclosure, reports on the role of zoos, international cooperation and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The zoo educator also explains his work: he is first and foremost a link between the zoo and its visitors. He explains in detail what his daily routine looks like and how it has changed in recent months. The illustrated lecture offers the opportunity to gain in-depth information and up-to-date insights into the zoo and the wildlife enclosure.
The event is a co-operation between the zoo and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
