Intercultural film weeks in Chemnitz
Opening at Weltecho with "Like in the wrong film - stories from football" on Monday, 3 November, 7 pm
From 3 to 16 November, the 2nd Intercultural Film Weeks will take place in Chemnitz. The film weeks, funded by the federal programme "Promoting Tolerance - Strengthening Competence", are being organised in cooperation with AG In- und Ausländer e. V. and Etelka Kobuß, the city's commissioner for foreigners .
In addition to 24 films dealing with topics such as human rights, discrimination and migration, the programme also includes workshops and lectures (flyer attached). The film weeks will open on Monday, 3 November at 7 pm in the Weltecho with the documentary "Like in the wrong film - stories from football". The film, designed for educational work with young people, addresses forms of discrimination based on personal experiences. Otto Addo, Anja Mittag, Gerald Asamoah, Roberto Hilbert and Jérôme Boateng, among others, have their say in the film. After the screening, there will be a panel discussion with Claus Löser, the filmmakers and CFC players.
Etelka Kobuß: "After the premiere of the Intercultural Film Weeks last year, we are delighted to be able to invite you to the second edition and cordially invite the people of Chemnitz to attend. The medium of film can also be used to address highly topical issues in a very vivid and entertaining way. In this way, it is possible to create access where pure facts and brochures perhaps offer little incentive to deal with the living situation of migrants, for example."
