Instrument day at the music school
Invitation to listen, see and try out
The Chemnitz Municipal Music School promises discoveries in the realm of musical instruments with its invitation to the Instrument Day. On Saturday, 9 April 2016, children, young people, parents and grandparents are cordially invited to try out various musical instruments and listen to a varied concert programme at the music school at Gerichtsstraße 1 on Kaßberg from 10 am to 1 pm .
From 10.15 a.m. to 1 p.m., each department will play for 30 minutes in the music school's new concert hall. The programme ranges from string, wind and plucked instruments to piano, accordion, singing and choir. The rock-pop-jazz department presents itself with contributions in the new band room.
Music school director Nancy Gibson is looking forward to welcoming many visitors: "Anyone who would like to pluck a guitar, try out a trumpet or make the piano sound good is cordially invited to the music school. Perhaps the afternoon will even be the beginning of a lifelong passion!"
The Chemnitz Municipal Music School offers professional accompaniment and training in a wide variety of areas. Lessons are given on percussion, string, wind and plucked instruments, piano and accordion. The music school also offers early musical education, lessons for senior citizens, chamber music and vocal training.
On Instrument Day, visitors can also enjoy a student café, the sheet music library and an exhibition by a violin maker and music dealer. The music school administration will answer questions about enrolment and music lessons at the music school.
