Instrument Day at the Municipal Music School
Discoveries in the realm of musical instruments - invitation to listen, see and of course try out on 8 April
The Chemnitz Municipal Music School is opening its doors at Gerichtsstraße 1 on Kaßberg for an Instrument Day on Saturday, 8April 2017. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., children, young people and their parents who are interested in music are cordially invited to try out various musical instruments on the premises of the music school.
Anyone who would like to pluck a guitar, blow a trumpet or play the piano is welcome to try it out. The music school has a large stock of instruments for this purpose
The rock-pop-jazz section presents itself from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the band room with continuous band performances.
In addition, the concert "Antonia in the Fairytale Forest - Sleeping Beauty" will take place twice, at 10.30 am and 12 noon, in the concert hall. Children from the basic musical training programme, children's ballet and music students will play and dance on various instruments.
"Antonia", the mascot of the early musical education programme, will also be there.
After the second concert, Heiko Zabel from the Chemnitz-Rabenstein Lions Club will present the music school's support association with a donation from the proceeds of the Lions' New Year's concert.
On Instrument Day, music school staff will be happy to answer any questions about enrolling for music lessons. There will also be a student café and a presentation by Pianohaus Hofmann.
Whether for adults or children, the Chemnitz Municipal Music School offers professional guidance and training in a wide range of subject areas. Among the subjects taught are percussion, string, wind and plucked instruments, piano and accordion. Early musical education, lessons for senior citizens, chamber music and vocal training are also offered.
