Inspire meeting place opens on the Brühl
Kick-off on Saturday with an Irish evening with live music
Next Saturday, 17 January 2015, the Inspire meeting place at Brühl 49 will open its doors at 6.30 pm and invites you to an Irish evening with a book reading and live music.
Inspire is a group of Christians from different churches who, as a non-profit organisation, want to help revitalise Brühl and create integrative offers in the neighbourhood. The name is derived from the Latin "inspirare" (to inspire, kindle). The project aims to inspire people to help shape the Brühl creatively and socially as an open house with a diverse range of leisure, educational and counselling services. In future, regular events such as Soul Sunday, a Bring & Share breakfast, whiskey tastings and a pub talk will take place. Social services and so-called DienstTage (service days) are planned for voluntary services on the Brühl. Last year, for example, Inspire already planted individual beds on Brühl.
On Saturday evening, Inspire will present its planned activities and events. A concert with "Green Island", Irish folk to sing along to, as well as a reading by Pastor Barry Sloan from his book "Pilgern auf Irisch" (Pilgrims in Irish) will provide good entertainment. The Northern Irishman, who has lived in Chemnitz for many years, is co-initiator of the Inspire project on the Brühl. Small snacks and drinks are available on a donation basis. Otherwise, admission is free.
