Insight into the work of the tabloid press
Adult education centre: Lecture on 31 March, 7 to 8.30 p.m., TIETZ
On Thursday, 31 March, from 7 to 8.30 p.m., interested parties are invited to a lecture at the adult education centre in the TIETZ, event hall on the third floor. Journalist and head of copywriting at Morgenpost Sachsen, Mario Adolphsen, will report on how the tabloid press works under the title "The art of short news".

Tacky, indiscreet, dubious - these are some of the clichés attached to tabloid newspapers such as BILD and Morgenpost. The accusation that the tabloid press is superficial, abbreviating and sensationalising is a common one. Readers are addressed on an emotional level. Attention is fought for in large letters and sometimes drastic words. Images and texts speak a clear and concise language.
But what is the art behind reducing complex information to short, clear sentences? What role do images and headlines play in this? The lecture will provide answers to these questions.
The event is part of the VHS project "trau.schau.wem? faktenfest und mediensicher", which is dedicated to the topics of media work, journalism and dealing with the media in a variety of formats such as workshops, lectures and guided tours. The project is funded by the Saxon State Media Authority (SLM).
