INSEK - Chemnitz 2035 enters the next round

Invitation to the second future workshop for citizens, 29 June, 5 p.m., Technical Town Hall, city walks from 6 p.m.

The second future workshop on the Integrated Urban Development Concept (INSEK) will take place on Thursday, 29 June from 5 p.m. in the Technical City Hall, Friedensplatz 1. Everyone in Chemnitz is invited to join in the discussion, think and dream.

From 6 p.m., city walks will be offered to rediscover the city and discuss ideas on site. At the same time, interested Chemnitz residents can gather information, discuss ideas and participate creatively at Friedensplatz.

At the first future workshop in April 2023, Chemnitz citizens reported on what moves them, how they perceive Chemnitz today and what they want for the future for and in their city. Important city stakeholders will be involved in the ongoing process in order to develop a concept that not only draws on existing extensive expertise, but also relates as precisely as possible to the people who live and work there, inspires them to stay and motivates them to realise their own ideas about life in Chemnitz.

Background INSEK:

The Integrated Urban Development Concept - Chemnitz 2035 (INSEK) is a concept that is not intended to be one among many, but rather THE urban concept. It creates the foundations and approaches for action for sustainable urban development.

Chemnitz is constantly changing. New signs mean new focal points for action. As an overarching umbrella concept, INSEK 2035 is intended to be a strategic guideline for future planning, decision-making and action. The aim is to recognise strengths and potential, derive goals and formulate future tasks. An integrated urban development concept is a framework instrument for urban development that shows how to deal with challenges and future tasks for the entire city and the next 15 to 20 years.
