Insect afternoon
Adult education centre: Workshop on 20 October, 3 to 6 p.m. in the Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147
On Wednesday, 20 October, from 3 to 6 p.m., the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites interested parties to a workshop on the protection of insects. In the NABU Nature Conservation Centre in the Chemnitz Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147, information about the diversity of the insect world will be provided on this afternoon.
Admission is free. Due to the limited number of places available, registration is recommended at www.vhs-chemnitz.de or 0371 488-4343.
The three-hour workshop will focus on the native insect world and its current threats. The number of insects is dwindling and more and more species are becoming extinct. The practically orientated workshop teaches how insects can be discovered and identified in the garden. All sorts of interesting facts for the simple protection of insects are also at the centre of the workshop. In addition, insect-friendly plants for the balcony and garden will be presented.
There will be an opportunity to build an insect hotel yourself. A fee of 5 euros per piece is payable on site.
The event is a co-operation between NABU Regionalverband Erzgebirge e. V. and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
