Initial preparations for the new construction of the Bernsdorf swimming complex
Tree felling will be necessary in the coming days in preparation for the construction of the new Bernsdorf swimming complex. This will be followed by further preparatory construction work such as the demolition of smaller buildings.
From tomorrow, 31 January, a total of 15 trees that are subject to the tree protection statutes will be felled. In addition, there will be further clearing of trees and shrubs that do not require authorisation. All necessary applications have been submitted and approved. The tree felling will be carried out with ecological construction supervision on site, which will oversee and monitor all avoidance, protection and mitigation measures.
As a replacement measure, a total of approx. 60 medium and large-crowned deciduous trees are planned by the client. Around 20 of these trees are to be planted on site. Further planting is planned at various locations in the urban area.
The swimming complex is scheduled to go into operation at the end of 2022.
