Information on this year's public authority festival
The 16th Behördenfest will take place on Sunday, 9 September 2018, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of the moated castle Klaffenbach.
Various city offices will be among the long-standing participants: employees from the Citizens' Office, Service Centre D 115 department will be on hand at the information stands to answer questions about the nationwide public authority number 115. Staff from the traffic monitoring department of the public order office will explain the measuring technology of a radar vehicle and how a portable measuring device works. The Social Welfare Office will introduce visitors to its specialised department for senior citizens and disabled people, the local care authority. Interested parties will have the opportunity to find out about, among other things, the power of attorney and issues relating to guardianship law. In addition, the staff of the Senior Citizens' Social Service will provide information on help and support for the elderly. They also provide advice on support services for people in need of care and assistance. The tasks of the public health department can also be found out at the festival. A counsellor will be on hand to answer questions about healthy eating. The office has also prepared a hands-on course on its specific topics. The staff of the food monitoring and veterinary office will also be on hand to provide information on the activities and tasks of their department.
The emergency vehicles of the Chemnitz fire brigade are always a particular magnet for visitors. You can take a look inside and ask the firefighters about fire protection. The waste disposal and city cleaning company has a stand providing information about the collection and composting of organic waste. Visitors to the festival will be asked to answer a "bio-quiz" on this special waste disposal topic. Participants who answer the questions correctly can look forward to an edible prize. Younger festival visitors can fill a self-designed clay pot with compost soil and plant it at the ASR stand. The ASR mascot EMSI is particularly looking forward to the young visitors to the ASR stand.
