On Saturday, 4 October, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., interested parties can find out more about zoo animal care at a stand in the entrance area of the Oberrabenstein Wildlife Park, Thomas-Müntzer-Höhe 13, Wing 3. Under the motto "A profession with heart and responsibility", visitors will gain an insight into the diverse world of zoo animal care. The occasion is International Zoo Animal Care Day.
What does a zoo animal keeper do? What does their day-to-day work look like? What skills are required when it comes to caring for wild animals? These and many other questions will be answered on this day of action. Visitors to the information stand can look forward to illustrative material, information on training and insights into daily tasks such as preparing food, observing animals and caring for enclosures - not to mention first-hand accounts of personal experiences. The game reserve manager will be available to answer questions in person and can tell you more about the challenges, experiences and passion behind this profession.
Admission to the information stand is free. Regular admission prices apply to the Oberrabenstein game reserve (adults 4.50 euros, reduced 3 euros).
