Information on the Maintenance Advance Amendment Act
On 1 July 2017, the Federal Government decided to amend the Maintenance Advance Act. This extends the age limit for children entitled to maintenance from 12 to 18 years. The limit of 72 months will no longer apply.
The amendment will come into force retroactively from 1 July when it is published in the Federal Law Gazette. Applications can already be accepted. However, they can only be processed after promulgation. The date for this is not yet known.
