Traffic restrictions in the city centre
Several demonstrations/rallies have been registered for Saturday and Sunday in Chemnitz city centre, which have been approved subject to conditions. In the course of these events, there will be traffic restrictions in Chemnitz city centre.
The car park at Johanneskirche and Arndtplatz will be closed from 6 a.m. tomorrow. Stopping restrictions will also be in place on Promenadenstraße from 6 a.m. and on Brückenstraße and Theaterstraße from 8 a.m. From 11am, lanes will be restricted on Zschopauerstrasse and Bahnhofstrasse. At 12 noon, Theaterstraße between Falkeplatz and Mühlenstraße and Brückenstraße between Theaterstraße and Straße der Nationen will be fully closed. Traffic will be cleared operationally by the police.

The assembly will begin at 10.30 am on Saturday with the Chemnitz peace groups. The opening and closing rally will take place at the Red Tower. Registered participants: 100 The planned demonstration route: Roter Turm - Straße der Nationen - Brückenstraße - Bahnhofstraße - Falkeplatz - Theaterstraße - Am Wall - Roter Turm
The stationary demonstration will take place in the car park at the Johanniskirche from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. under the motto "Herz statt Hetze". Registered participants: approx. 1,000.
From 4 to 5.30 p.m. there will be a demonstration by Pro Chemnitz from Karl-Marx-Kopf via Theaterstraße - Bahnhofstraße - Brückenstraße. 1,000 registered participants.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the AfD Landesverband Sachsen has organised a demonstration starting from the office on Theaterstraße 15. Registered participants: 500 to 1,000: Theaterstraße - Brückenstraße - Bahnhofstraße - Falkeplatz - Theaterstraße.

On Sunday, there will be a rally organised by a private individual under the motto "Chemnitz citizens set a democratic sign against violence and xenophobia". The rally will take place at 2 pm at Neumarkt Chemnitz. Registered participants: 500.
A rally organised by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chemnitz will also take place on Neumarkt from 4 to 6 pm.
