Voluntary military service - objection to the transfer of data to the Federal Office of Defence Administration for the purpose of sending information material by the Bundeswehr
Women and men who are Germans within the meaning of the Basic Law have the opportunity to perform voluntary military service. In accordance with Section 58c of the Soldiers' Act, the registration authorities must forward the surname, first names and current address of persons with German citizenship who will come of age in the coming year to the Federal Office of Defence Administration. From there, information material on activities in the armed forces is sent to the persons concerned. Pursuant to Section 36 (2) of the Federal Registration Act, data transfer is only permitted if the data subjects have not objected.
The affected men and women born in 2003 have until 29 February 2020 to exercise their right to object. The application to object to the transfer of data is available at the Chemnitz registration office, at the citizen service centres and on the Internet. Objections to the transfer of a person's data must be addressed to the City of Chemnitz, Citizens' Office, Registration Office, 09106 Chemnitz (located at Düsseldorfer Platz 1) or can be submitted at any citizen service centre of the City of Chemnitz.

Monday and Friday 8.30 a.m. to 12 noon
Tuesday and Thursday 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
