Info café on the sustainable legacy of the Capital of Culture year

Legacy event on 21 April, 6 pm, Hartmannfabrik

Following the successful Capital of Culture year 2025, the city of Chemnitz is working on securing and further developing the structures and impetus created in the process in the long term. The aim is to stabilise the effects achieved, develop new projects and maintain opportunities for participation for the urban community and the region in the long term. The year 2026 serves as a so-called "bridge year" in which the foundations for sustainable continuation, the legacy, are laid.

With this in mind, the City of Chemnitz, together with the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH, is inviting interested parties to an information café:

Info-Café: Legacy of Chemnitz 2025
Date: Tuesday, 21 April
Time: 6 pm
Place: Hartmannfabrik, Fabrikstr. 11

The event offers insights into the current status of work to secure the sustainable legacy of the Capital of Culture year. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and talk to those involved.

The Infocafé will focus on the following topics

  • Programme and infrastructure
  • City marketing and tourism
  • Europe and the region

The programme includes a brief introduction to the Bridge Year 2026 as well as several thematic impulses from the respective areas of work. This will be followed by in-depth discussions on specific topics.

Experts from the respective areas will be available to contribute to the content.
