In the game enclosure: she-wolf from Wroclaw has moved in - tomorrow Invitation to a lantern parade through the area tomorrow
With a little luck, visitors to the wildlife reserve in Oberrabenstein can observe an attractive but still somewhat shy newcomer: A new female wolf (photo) has taken up residence here. Zoo director Dr Anja Dube: "The she-wolf is three years old, comes from Wroclaw Zoo and is still a little shy at the moment. She is to form a new wolf pack together with the male already living here, as the old pack had gradually died out due to age."
An invitation to a special autumn walk is also extended to the wildlife enclosure tomorrow Saturday afternoon (25 October) with a lantern procession: the meeting point is 4.30 pm and the walk starts at 5 pm. Anyone who wants to can come in Halloween costume - but please only use battery-operated lanterns.
Another tip for a visit to the wildlife enclosure and zoo: on weekdays (except on the 31 October public holiday) there are show feedings at 11 a.m., alternating between lynx and wolf (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and mouflon and wild boar (Tuesdays and Thursdays). In the zoo, the next short guided tours will take place at 11 a.m. with the camels (tomorrow, Saturday, 25 October) and in the vivarium (Sunday, 26 October).
