Ideas wanted - Integration and living together in Chemnitz

Citizen survey from 5 to 25 September 2016 to actively help shape the integration concept

The public consultation on the development of an integration concept for the city of Chemnitz starts today. Everyone in Chemnitz has the opportunity to help shape the integration concept.

In the public survey, all citizens can answer the following three questions:

  • What positive experiences on the topic of integration and living together have you had so far? (e.g. in your living environment, leisure time, school, work, etc.)
  • What challenges do you see in the area of integration and coexistence in Chemnitz?
  • In your opinion, what specific measures could be taken to overcome these challenges?

The aim of the survey is to find creative ideas that enrich the integration and coexistence of all people living in Chemnitz and should therefore be considered in the further development process. This is not a voting procedure but a collection of ideas, i.e. the answers that are mentioned the most are not automatically included in the integration concept. Participation in the survey is anonymous. The results will be incorporated into the further development process by the responsible parties.

You can answer the three questions and provide some voluntary information until 25 September 2016 as follows

  • by telephone via the public authority telephone number 115
  • in writing by post, by fax, by email or by handing it in in person at the city council. Flyers are available in many public places.

Background:

On 16 August 2016, the stakeholders active in the field of integration in the city of Chemnitz agreed on the joint development of an integration concept. The first major stage in the development process was the third conference to promote the integration of migrants in the city of Chemnitz, which took place on 24 August 2016. A total of 185 stakeholders came together in the chamber hall of the IHK to discuss the promotion and support of the integration of migrants in the city of Chemnitz and to jointly search for good, realisable solutions.

The next important step in the development process is the citizens' survey taking place from 5 to 25 September 2016, in which all Chemnitz residents will have the opportunity to actively help shape the integration concept.
