IAB swimming pool congress in Chemnitz
International symposium on 28 May, from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at Stadtbad Chemnitz, Mühlenstraße 27
On Monday and Tuesday, 27 and 28 May, the city of Chemnitz will host the IAB Congress "Pools Fit for the Future - Sustainable - Efficient - Climate Neutral". The International Academy for Pool, Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAB) is inviting the specialist audience to the conference at the Stadtbad Chemnitz, Mühlenstraße 27 - while the pools continue to operate. The almost century-old, listed, yet modern and future-proof city pool was chosen as the conference venue not least because of its extraordinary Bauhaus architecture.
After a get-together with an evening programme at smac on Monday, 27 May, the following questions will be discussed at the congress on Tuesday, 28 May from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.: How can pools be planned for the future? What ideas are needed to maintain the culture of bathing and swimming in the future? The focus will be on digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI). Solutions in the areas of administration, cash register systems and technical building services control will be presented.
New forms of pool construction will also be explored. Hybrid bathrooms are not just a vision for the future. Planners and operators will use a project in Berlin to explain the experience gained, which will set an example for future projects.
But new pools should also be climate-neutral. Specialists from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg will present which special sources of deep geothermal energy or the storage of heat at great depths will be of benefit. Architects and engineers will report on their experiences with the latest pools in Saxony and Thuringia.
The parallel trade exhibition and short presentations by companies and manufacturers will provide informative insights into the current market developments in the field of spa technology.
