HyExperts - Hydrogen model region Chemnitz

Final event with announcement of the results of the feasibility study on 20 September, from 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., IHK, Kammersaal, Straße der Nationen 25

The final event for the HyExperts - Hydrogen Model Region Chemnitz feasibility study will take place on Wednesday, 20 September from 9 a.m. to around 2.30 p.m. in the Chamber Hall of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The results of the study commissioned by the City of Chemnitz last year will be presented to an expert audience.

Representatives of the media are also invited.

The feasibility study focussed on the establishment of regional value chains for the production, transport, storage and provision of green hydrogen. The focus is on the mobility sector, in which public passenger transport, heavy goods transport and special applications of H2-powered vehicles such as waste disposal, agriculture, etc. as well as motorised private transport are considered.

Background information

In May 2022, the Chemnitz hydrogen region was one of the winners of the nationwide "HyLand" competition in the HyExperts category for local authorities in the winning regions. It received federal funding of around 400,000 euros.

The environmental office of the city of Chemnitz, HZwo e.V., the utility company eins and the network partners Erzgebirgskreis, Vogtlandkreis, the districts of Central Saxony and Zwickau as well as the city of Zwickau jointly developed the funding application for the Chemnitz hydrogen region.
