Hüttenberg road receives new carriageway
Construction work over a length of 220 metres begins on 3 July
In July, the carriagewayof the Hüttenberg road between Kapellenberg house number 20 and Hüttenberg house number 25 will berenewed. This has been announced by the traffic and civil engineering department. The construction work, for which this area must be fully closed, will begin on 3 July and is expected to last until 28 July.
The Hüttenberg road is located in the Kapellenberg district, around 2.5 kilometres south-west of the city centre. The city park borders Kapellenberg and Hüttenberg streets to the south. From the junction at Kapellenberg 20, the Hüttenberg road leads to a residential area with mixed development on both sides, primarily with detached houses and apartment blocks.
The road is being renewed in the section from Kapellenberg 20 to Hüttenberg 25 over a length of 220 metres. Apart from a transformer station, there are no buildings on either side of this section. There is a garage community at the junction with Kapellenberg, for which access will be provided during the construction period. A local diversion will be in place for the remaining traffic.
Due to the full closure and the lack of turning options for lorries, the construction company will take the waste bins from Hüttenberg 2 to 25 to the construction site boundary every week on the respective collection dates and back to the properties after emptying.
The company ATS from Chemnitz was commissioned to carry out the construction work at a cost of around 165,000 euros.
