Hospital donates to the botanical garden
Invitation to the press event: 28 March, 4.30 pm, Leipziger Straße 147
On Tuesday, 28 March at 4.30 pm, Mayor of Chemnitz Michael Stötzer will accept a donation from Klinikum Chemnitz gGmbH in the Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147. The donation will be presented by Medical Director Prof Dr Ralf Steinmeier.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
During a Christmas campaign at Chemnitz Hospital, employees of the hospital were able to choose whether they would receive a Christmas tree or donate the amount to the neighbouring Botanical Garden, School Biology and Nature Conservation Centre. More than 1100 employees decided in favour of the donation, raising a total of 22,152 euros.
It will be announced at the press event what the money will be used for.
The new Director of the Botanic Garden, Dr Sten Gillner, who has been in office since 1 March 2023, will also be officially introduced. His predecessor, Wolfgang Berthold, took his well-deserved retirement in August 2022.
