Sven Schulze, Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz: "Prof Carl H. Hahn was an internationally successful entrepreneur who always remained close to his native city of Chemnitz. He personally made a significant contribution to the repositioning and successful economic development of Chemnitz as a traditional automotive centre after 1990. This was one of the reasons why he was made an honorary citizen of our city in 1994. Carl Hahn managed to combine entrepreneurial success with social responsibility and a down-to-earth attitude in a special way. He was a special personality of whom we in Chemnitz can be proud and grateful. We still feel his legacy today and we would like to remember him."

The commemoration was jointly initiated by the City of Chemnitz, community4you AG, Saxony International School - Carl Hahn and the Rotary Club Chemnitz.

The event will reflect on Carl H. Hahn's life and work and emphasise his outstanding significance for the Free State of Saxony and the region. The Head of the Saxon State Chancellery, Minister of State Oliver Schenk, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and representatives of the business community as well as scientists and historians will honour his personality in greetings and speeches.

Afterwards, community4you AG invites you to a reception in the Wandelhalle. The event will be accompanied by music from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School.
