Honorary citizenship awarded to Dr Peter Seifert
Ceremony on Friday, 4 November, 4 p.m., Chemnitz City Hall/City Council Chamber
On 4 November 2016, the City of Chemnitz will award honorary citizenship to the long-serving Lord Mayor of Chemnitz, Dr Peter Seifert, in recognition of his work and services for the benefit of the City of Chemnitz.
The city's highest honour will be awarded during a ceremony in the City Council Chamber of Chemnitz City Hall. Barbara Ludwig, Lord Mayor of the City of Chemnitz, will be the laudatory speaker. Former companions of Seifert will also deliver personal words.
During the ceremony, Dr Peter Seifert will sign the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend the ceremony.

From 15:30 Arrival of the invited guests
16:00 Start of the ceremony with a musical contribution. Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes the guests to the ceremony and then gives the floor to Seifert's companions.
After another piece of music, Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig gives the laudatory speech.
Dr Peter Seifert then signs the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz.
Mayor Ludwig presents the certificate of honorary citizenship with flowers and an honorary gift.

This is followed by a speech by the honorary citizen Dr Peter Seifert
After the final musical performance, Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig invites you to a reception in the foyer of the town hall.
