Holocaust Writing and Arts Contest of Akron
Award ceremony for Chemnitz participants on 29 August, 4 pm in the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Säulensaal
Nine students from Chemnitz took part in the city of Akron's Holocaust Writing and Arts Contest this year.
Since 2013, the art and literature competition has offered Chemnitz students the opportunity to engage with the topic of the Holocaust in an interdisciplinary manner in the categories of text production, visual arts or multimedia presentation.
On Tuesday 29 August at 4 pm in the Columned Hall of the Chemnitz Art Collections, the pupils from the Georgius Agricola Grammar School and the Montessori School will be presented with their awards by the Director of the Art Collections, Dr Ingrid Mössinger, in the presence of their parents, teachers and head teachers.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
During the event, the submitted works will be presented and viewed together.
The City of Akron donated the prizes for the winners of the 2017 competition and the certificates for all participants as well as the competition catalogue.
