Holiday event: Diary of a high-flyer
City library: Open-air children's book reading with author Frauke Angel at the Knappteich pond
On Wednesday, 2 July at 10 a.m., interested parties are invited to an open-air children's book reading at Knappteich, near Fürstenstraße 147. Dresden actress and children's book author Frauke Angel will be reading from her book "Diary of a high-flyer".
Admission is free. Registration is requested at www.stadtbibliothek-chemnitz.de.
In case of bad weather, the event will take place in the neighbourhood library in the Yorck area.
The book: Tomke writes a diary. He hardly feels like talking. But he has a lot to say. But the words just won't come out of his mouth the way they went into his head. A mind reader would have to be invented! Then everyone would be able to hear perfectly what comes out of Tomke's mouth either not at all, too late or incompletely.
However, people would then also hear what Tomke thinks about them. Grandma would be horrified, Mum worried and Dad probably very surprised. Only for Delia, the glittery green girl on roller skates, Tomke's thoughts would be nothing new. Because she seems to be able to read his mind even now. Authentic and funny!
The author: Frauke Angel is an actress and worked on German stages for 20 years before making her children's book debut in 2017. She has been writing for children and young people ever since. She lives in Dresden.
An event organised by the Förderer der Stadtbibliothek Chemnitz e. V. and supported by the Bürgerplattform MitteOst.
