The Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz invites you to the opening of the special exhibition "Highlights of Nature Photography 2015" on 30 November 2015 at 5 pm in the TIETZ event hall. For the 17th time, the exhibition is preceded by the international photography competition of the same name. The highlight of the show is the winning photo "Foray into the swamp" by Gian Luigi Fornari Lanzetti from Italy. At the opening, nature photographer Klaus Bogon will talk about his experiences in and with nature. Admission is free.

The exhibition will be shown during the opening hours of the Museum für Naturkunde until 3 January 2016 in the vhs-galerie in the Volkshochschule, 5th floor in the TIETZ. The exhibition is closed on 24 and 31 December 2015. Catalogues for the exhibition are available for 18.00 euros at the counter of the Museum für Naturkunde on the 1st floor of the TIETZ.

This year, 1,166 photographers from 35 countries took part in the international photo competition "Highlights of Nature Photography", submitting a total of 21,790 images. The four nature photographers Sepp Friedhuber, Thorsten Milse, Gisela Pölking and Mara Fuhrmann selected 87 outstanding photographs from the entries, which will be shown in the exhibition. This year's winner of the competition is Gian Luigi Fornari Lanzetti. As a passionate photographer of African wildlife, he succeeded in capturing a lioness roaming the vast steppes of the Serengeti.
