High sensitivity or hypersensitivity

Basic lecture at the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre on 13 September, 5 p.m.

On Monday, 13 September, from 5 to 7.15 pm, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites all interested parties to an introductory lecture on high sensitivity or hypersensitivity at the TIETZ, course room 4.07. The focus will be on the question of what high sensitivity means and how highly sensitive people experience their everyday lives.

Highly sensitive people often have a keen sense of perception. At the same time, they are more often flooded with sensory stimuli than other people. They react strongly to odours, sounds or light and process them more deeply. The world sometimes seems loud, fast and superficial to them. Many look for ways to retreat. It is estimated that around 15 to 20 per cent of the population are affected.

The lecture approaches the topic of high sensitivity from a scientific perspective. It explains what is associated with high sensitivity as a personality trait and what consequences it can have for health. An experienced course leader with her own psychological practice will be on hand to answer questions. She will present various approaches and approaches, as much research is still in its infancy and some of its results are controversial. The personal experiences of the participants will nevertheless be incorporated. After the lecture, there will be an opportunity for discussion and exchange.
